Is GORE-TEX waterproof and breathable?
Absolutely! In fact, the GORE-TEX membrane is the iconic standard among breathable, windproof, and waterproof membranes. The membrane consists of 1.4 billion pores (similar to our skin) per square centimetre. These pores are as much as 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet and 700 times larger than a water vapour molecule. What is GORE-TEX Infinium?
Whereas the classic GORE-TEX membrane (identified by the black label) protects you from water and wind, GORE-TEX Infinium protects you primarily from cutting wind.
