We believe it is important that everyone can use our website—regardless of disability or assistive technology. We strive to make our website accessible to all users, including those with visual, motor, auditory, or cognitive impairments. On this page, you can read how we score on the most important aspects of digital accessibility.
We aim to comply with level AA of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines. At this moment, we do not yet fully meet these requirements. Below you can read what we have already done, what the current status is, and what we are working on to improve.
We are actively committed to digital accessibility and have taken various measures to ensure this:
• Our website is tested against the applicable accessibility criteria.
• For every new development on our website, accessibility is integrated in the design and development process from the start.
• Each online publication must meet a number of accessibility checkpoints.
Below you will find an overview of the four principles of digital accessibility and how we currently comply.
We try to distinguish hyperlinks by underlining or other visual indicators, such as an arrow or button.
Some interactive elements, such as the navigation menu and footer at the bottom of the website only contain lists of hyperlinks, which means they have no further visual characteristics.
Most images on the website have alternative text describing the image.
Not all icons and buttons currently have text alternatives. This may limit their use with a screen reader. Our website also contains some older images that do not yet have text alternatives.
Where possible, we apply sufficient colour contrast between text and background, though some elements do not yet meet updated standards.
Some buttons, such as disabled buttons, may have insufficient colour contrast. In addition, some sections of the website have a light background tint, which may not be noticeable but is not essential for using the website.
Our website remains largely readable when zoomed in up to 200%.
We aim to provide subtitles for all our videos. All our videos use a YouTube player, which offers automatic subtitles.
Images use as little text as possible, making the text easy to distinguish from the image for use with a screen reader or allowing the text to be enlarged using the web browser.
Some images on the website still use images with text. Since June 2025, this has been limited as much as possible. In this regard, we are sometimes dependent on the technical limitations of our management system. In some cases, the image contains a campaign logo. We ensure that these images never contain essential information.
Our website can largely be operated using only the keyboard. Users can navigate using the Tab key, activate elements with Enter, and fill out forms without a mouse. Visual focus is visible on most interactive elements.
• Some elements, such as categories in the submenus, are not accessible via the keyboard. These are largely accessible via the main category pages.
• Our content is structured in a logical order, which corresponds to the visual order, but is not always easy to skip.
Interactive elements usually have a visible focus by means of outlining.
Some elements lack this focus, which can be confusing for users.
Our website is (largely) usable with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver. Navigation and buttons generally contain descriptive texts.
Not all icons and buttons currently have text alternatives.
We do not use inaccessible captchas.
The primary language is correctly set to English. Words in another language or buttons may not always be marked as such for screen readers.
We strive for a clear structure and predictable usage.
The operation of some filters, such as automatic page reloading, can be confusing for users with cognitive impairments or screen readers.
Form fields are clearly labelled, with clear error messages where necessary.
The website is largely compatible with modern browsers and assistive technology.
Most forms support automatic input.
As described in this document, there are a number of areas for improvement to ensure the accessibility of our website. To achieve this, a number of improvements, which we have included in our design process, still needs to be developed. We expect to be able to implement these before the end of 2027.
We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website. Have you encountered a problem or do you have a suggestion? Please let us know via the contact form.
