Petzl

Petzl is a familiar name among (mountain) sports lovers across the world. For over forty years, this family business with roots in the French Prealps has been playing a major role in contact between people and the mountains. Petzl has made a name for itself in just about every vertical activity and the associated obstacles you can think of: from climbing and caving to canyoning, across boulders, snow and ice, but above all, in the dark. After all, the main thing Petzl is known for is its lightweight, brightly coloured headlamps.

Petzl's headlamps are getting better all the time. Lighter materials, better LEDs, more powerful light beams, longer battery life, waterproof casing, rechargeable via USB — across all its models, from extremely light and compact to unbreakably robust. Whether you're going camping with the kids, want to be visible when out running or are looking for the ultimate challenge in the peaks: Petzl adds precious extra time to your adventure.

The Petzl Actik Core rechargeable lamp (450 lumen) is perfect for dynamic outdoor activities such as running, hiking and backpacking. This lamp comes with a rechargeable battery but is also compatible with three AAA batteries. The best of both worlds, in other words! The red lighting option prevents you from blinding others in your group. The Petzl Swift RL lamp (900 lumen), on the other hand, is the most powerful option in the range, despite its compact size. The built-in reactive lighting sensor automatically adjusts the brightness of your light beam to the situation you find yourself in.

It was farrier Fernand Petzl who had a lightbulb moment in the French city of Grenoble forty years ago. Caving was his greatest passion, and it gets pretty dark inside the caves, of course! Fernand felt a huge inner drive to conquer nature to an ever degree and reach locations that were regarded as off-limits up to that point. Luckily, no challenge is too great and no adventure is too dark for Petzl!
