O'Neill

It’s always summer on the inside! No brand embodies the sun (and especially the Californian sun) as well as O’Neill. But while O’Neill is now known mainly for collections that make the heart of many a surfer beat faster; the brand is also a go to for winter sports enthusiasts and people who just like an athletic style. From colourful bikinis or swim shorts to high-quality skiwear, you can find it all at O’Neill.

In addition to the high functionality of the actual sportswear, the bathing and beachwear have impressive, bright colours and trendy patterns. If you’d rather watch the surfers than ride the waves yourself, you’re spoilt for choice with cool T-shirts, flip-flops, and warm fleeces for when the sea breeze picks up in the evening.

So not only are you set for the sea in O’Neill clothing, but you’re also set for the snow and the mountains. Warm ski or softshell jackets and well-insulated trousers protect you from the elements. This love for our planet and its inhabitants is also reflected in a strong focus on sustainability. O’Neill, for example, is a member of amfori BSCI, a code of conduct that puts people and the planet at the centre of international trade.

Jack O’Neill opened his first shop in San Francisco in 1952 and is still a local hero. He is said to have invented the first neoprene wetsuit, but this is still up for debate. What is certain is that O’Neill looks like a real sea dog: with a gnarly beard and eye patch. He lost his eye due to… a surf rope that snapped. True story! Fortunately, it didn’t stop him from building a great brand.
