Winter jackets

The ultimate protective layer against winter weather? A winter jacket, of course. You literally have winter jackets for women and men in all lengths, materials, designs, linings, and styles. For example, if you cycle to work or school: be sure to put on a wind- and waterproof one that is decently breathable. Is it cold and frosty outside, with the occasional snowflake floating down? Then choose a winter jacket with good insulation (made of down or fleece, for example) and a water-repellent layer. Even if you’re just briefly heading into town, you can do so extra stylishly in an elegant parka.

FAQ – frequently asked questions about winter jackets

The fact that the range of winter jackets is so extensive is great. But it doesn’t always make the choice easier. What should you pay attention to when buying a winter jacket? We’ve got some tips for you.

  1. Choose a generous size: it’s best to try on a winter jacket when you’re wearing a jumper or thick sweatshirt, rather than a summer T-shirt. After all, those are the clothes you’ll be wearing on cold winter days. This often results in a size larger. But the more room for layering, the better! Thanks to the three-layer system (a thermal layer, insulating mid-layer, and waterproof outer layer), you ensure that your body temperature is always maintained. A good winter jacket is vital here.
  2. Pay attention to the length: a jacket that’s too short, falling just above your buttocks, may creep up a little too far when you sit down (on a bike, for example). This then exposes your lower back to the cold.
  3. Pay attention to the material: if you want a really warm jacket, you need one with a good lining made of fleece or down, for example. Wool or leather are also perfect for winter.
  4. Opt for a hood, or don’t: a hood always offers you just a little more warmth, especially if your hood is also lined. Do you still prefer caps? Then choose a winter jacket with a higher collar, so your neck is at least well protected too.

The trends this autumn

How about colours like Astro Dust, Sage Leaf, Seafoam, and Pink Clay? This autumn, we’ll mainly see a lot of warm neutrals and dark shades as bases. Timeless colours that make it easy to use in multiple seasons. Not only is this endlessly stylish, but more importantly, it is sustainable, so you don’t have to buy a new winter jacket every year just to be trendy. Another convenience is that many jackets feature drawstrings at the waist, a double zip, and a detachable hood. So you can customise and style your new addition to the max!
