HOKA's Mission
FLY HUMAN FLY
Did you know that the original brand name HOKA ONE ONE means “to fly over the earth” in the Māori language? HOKA shoes are known for their extra-thick midsoles, which give the sensation of flying just above the ground.
HOKA’s story
HOKA was born in the French Alps, with the goal of creating a shoe that allowed for faster and more comfortable downhill running. What started as an innovation for trail runners has grown into a global phenomenon for anyone who loves to run, walk, or move.
The HOKA Difference:
HOKA creates a unique running and walking experience through three core technologies found in every HOKA shoe — from running to hiking shoes. These are: maximal cushioning, the Active Foot Frame, and the Meta-Rocker. Together, they make movement more natural, lighter, and more efficient — this is what we call the HOKA difference. Walkers experience greater comfort, while trail runners gain more confidence. Whatever surface you’re on, movement has never felt this good.
1. Maximum Cushioning
The HOKA midsole with maximum cushioning provides a soft landing and ultimate comfort. It works like a powerful shock absorber without feeling heavy and is suitable for all distances.
2. Active Foot Frame
The Active Foot Frame functions like a bucket seat in a race car, securely holding the foot in place. The heel and foot sit deep within the midsole, surrounded by its sidewalls, offering built-in stability adaptable to various foot types and running styles — no extra support needed.
3. Meta-Rocker
The Meta-Rocker geometry – also known as “wheels for your feet” – propels the runner forward and supports the natural gait cycle. It encourages a smooth, efficient roll from heel to toe.
In addition to these three core technologies, HOKA shoes are also lightweight and for everyone — from first-time walkers to professional athletes. Please experience the HOKA feeling for yourself at one of the AS Adventure stores. #FlyHumanFly
