Our top five hiking routes in South Africa

  1. Skeleton Gorge (6.2 km): This lively route will take you from Kirstenbosch to the top of Table Mountain. A unique urban panorama awaits you at the top and the cable-lift will take you back to the bottom.
  2. Olifantsbos Shipwreck Circuit (5 km): This is an easy hike on the Cape Peninsula that will take you through the fynbos and over boulders to several washed-up, 20th-century shipwrecks.
  3. Dolphin Trail (17 km): If the famous Otter Trail is a little out of your league, you can explore the Tsitsikamma National Park without a heavy backpack and spend the night in luxury accommodations along the trail.
  4. Sentinel Peak Trail (6 km): Not afraid of heights? You’ll have to conquer steep rock walls with rope ladders to reach the top of the Drakensberg plateau.
  5. Robberg (11 km): Brave hikers can climb up to The Point along the steep, rocky incline with a deep ravine along the path. Can you hear the fur seals barking already?
