Reason why: try something different by taking a challenging bike ride somewhere different than the Belgian classics.
Styling: from casual bikewear by The Vandals and cycling shirts from Northwave and the new Craft Monuments collection, to highlights from Vélojunkie and brightly-coloured ladies tops from Castelli.
From Cap Gris-Nez to Cap Blanc-Nez
Wind, clean sea air, imposing hills and few cars... What more do you want? Push your cycling boundaries and discover the advantages of this great route on the Opal Coast:
· Beautiful nature
o At the top of the beautiful white chalk cliffs of Cap Blanc-Nez you have a panoramic view of the wild sea and the long beaches, dotted with fossils.
o In clear weather, you can see England and the white cliffs of Dover from the Cap Griz-Nez. Take care: the grey cliffs have crumbled in recent years due to erosion so you are strongly advised not to stand too close to the edge.
· Authentic towns
o Wissant is situated on a long, wide and sandy beach between the two capes and has a cosy village square, charming houses and simple cafés and restaurants.
o Wimereux can be found just before the harbour town of Boulogne and owes its charm to the old villas restored in an Anglo-Norman style and the beach cabins on the dike.
· Sports activities
You can practice all kinds of sports in the area: from hiking, cycling, horse riding and golf to beach sailing, surfing, gliding and sea fishing.
· Good food
There is a large choice of restaurants on the Opal Coast, and, like many places in France, you can eat for a very reasonable price.
